Hey. FYI. Losing 80+ a year wont increase revenue.

I started with revenue at 80. I lost for 2 years and it dipped below 80. Dont lose.

This isnt basketball. Building through the draft isnt the same.

1. Draft - I want to implement something that would be more like real life when players refuse to sign with a team. So this is how it would work in my mind. Let's say each year we have 5 players that, in real life, didn't sign the first time they were drafted. To make this easier I'll use real players from the '08 draft: Aaron Crow, Gerrit Cole, Jason Kipnis, Anthony Rendon, and Yan Gomes. These 5 players did NOT sign with the team that drafted them in 2008, their first draft. So in here I would I would assign a percentage likelihood that the player would sign or not sign, depending on where they were drafted. So Crow and Cole were in the 1st round so I'd give them a 25% chance of signing. Kipnis was in the 4th round so maybe like 50%. Rendon and Gomes were 27 and 39, so in reality the lower rounds are kind of like the 1st round and guys don't sign so they can be drafted higher the next year, so maybe like 35%. We would work them into the draft file, making them really good to studs. Right before the draft I put each player to a RNG to see if he stays in the draft. And this is where my dilemma occurs: do I take the player out before the draft or keep him in, let someone draft him, then tell them after the draft he didn't sign, and give a compensation pick for the next draft?
I dont like this. IMO its too hard to draft already. Or build through the draft. With no spends during the first year and so many young guys dying I dont like adding to the difficulty of drafting and building through the draft.
2. Exports - I could be inclined to give $2M for 100% exports and then work down from there.
Sweet. Making exporting more valuable means more activity. More extra sims. More fun.
3. Relievers to Starters - I'd like to eliminate these. Makes it harder to make drafts and it's unrealistic.
Maybe stop completely in 2010 to allow anyone that had set plans time to continue it. But I have no problem stopping this in the future.

1. totally against anything that will hurt the value of first round picks 2. yes 3. agree somewhat. if you have A duration as a reliever when drafted then you can be converted in your first 3 sts. otherwise no conversions. cosign

ideas 1 - you can trade a franchise player with no penalties if you are getting one in the same trade. in such a case the players don't lose their franchise tag when traded 2 - from pick 15 onwards you can opt out of pds until the player reaches the majors. if you choose no pds then you also can't use a tia until then like 1, don't like 2

but i'd expand the PD reversal system for younger guys without a doubt. maybe make it two reversals, one of which must be used while the player's 25 or younger. I'm against that. Prospects aren't supposed to be guarantees. Giving two PD reversals pretty much ensures they are. agreed...prospect should not be guarantees

Market discrepancy is a real life problem. The Rays don't have the money that the Yankees have and yet they compete just fine. I understand the game makes it difficult because of PDs, but we created that problem by allowing PD reversals. You don't throw more wood on the fire and hope it goes out. Allowing more PD reversals would have a worse effect than without them. Yeah, it is what it is...I wish my market was better, but what can I do...I think it shows you who truly are the better GMs around here.
