Home 78 322 100 30 0 28 84 60 15 61 .311 .337 .665 1.002 Road 77 330 93 23 0 28 76 48 14 63 .282 .308 .606 .914 Shale, that matters as does the fact that HIS OVERALL OPS MEANS THE HR ARE IRRELEVANT RBI is a product of the rest of the team (outside the 56 from HR), not himself, SO WHY DOES IT MATTER. I really think that the lack of walks are being magnified a lot more than they should be, which is pretty much the only reason why he's never led the league in OPS. 109 of his 193 hits were either doubles or homers. That's nearly 57% of all his hits going extra bases. Hanley had extra-base hits in 50.4% of his hits. I'll take the guy that makes the most of his hits, albeit the margin of difference here isn't that big. But again, there are 3 specific reasons why Hanley has a higher OPS: 21 more hits, 18 more walks, and 8 triples. Are you saying 21 hits, 18 walks and 8 triples should be the difference for winning an MVP? Please... Some players are just not made to be able to do everything on the field like Hanley can and I believe those others should not be hurt because of a few minor inabilities. Wright didn't get any speed to start so there's nothing can be done with that. He started with average walks, got a bad PD and I decided to not reverse it back when players only had 1 PD reversal to use in their whole careers. That is why he is fair in walks and drawn 40+ walks just once ever. It sucks, but at the time, it was a sacrifice that had to be made. Different players have different games. I feel Wright is just being criticized for what he can't do (lack of walks, triples and speed) and that, plus the Coors Field bias is why a good number of people here don't look at him as the potential all-time great he should be. I disagree with this perspective. Players should be commended for their amazing abilities at what they excel at a lot more than whatever criticism they may get for their weaknesses. a lack of walks matters, stop pretending like it doesnt. This is about the best player in the NL, not is Wright good, and Hanley was better. Sure, Wright can have more extra base hits, but 21 extra hits is a ton, thats a difference of .3 points in average, more walks means he is on base more for others to drive him home. OPS matters, a ton.

essentially you are saying here, ignore my guys weakness and he is the best, but that is dumb, it matters, Trout was on base a full .091 more often than Wright, but if we ignore walks, well, hey, thats not much, he only walked 61 more times than him, if we ignore walks, Trout would be a shitty player

Hanley was worth 158.8 runs, over the course of 149 started games, (157 total) for over 1 run per game. He had an OPS of 1.022, hit 45 HR, was a sick SS defensively, and didnt play in Coors for a team that WON its division The Cubs after a while didn't have to fight until the very end for a playoff spot though. I did and led the division until the final 2 games. did you win the division? no, Play did. You were runner up to me, funny, I have one guy on here, you and Play both have 3

It'd just be better to say "I voted Wright because he's my favorite player in real life and on this sim and I'm a homer."
At least then you're just being honest.

I tried to present my point of view, but if people don't agree then whatever. I won't bother to argue this any further if we'll continue to go in circles.

Plenty other hitter's parks out there. Burnes actually hit better on the road and is arguably 1 of the top 3-5 leadoff hitters around. Any 30 home run and 80 steal season should be recognized as a great season.

Nearly put him on here...but felt Gordon was more deserving

Greeme then should be saying this "product of Coors" thing to all hitters that play home games in any stadium with 120+ HR park factors and I already know of a good number of them, including his own for lefty hitters.
I guess Gordon and Bruce are products of Qualcomm's lefty friendly dimensions, according to Greeme's logic.

your field is insanely hitter friendly, its why I voted Collmenter for Cy Young, and why your hitters have to be above and beyond to get GM recognition for batting awards, AS they should, your park is far and away the most hitter friendly park, yet you constantly try to play that down
