Breaking News!! Texas Rangers' GM Max issued a press release to announce that the Texas Rangers will be changing the dimensions of their ballpark during the off season. They are currently accepting bids for the work and will be selecting a contractor within the next 4 weeks. Here is a transcript of the release:
"I took over the struggling Texas Rangers 2.5 years ago, and we have made great strides to improve the roster. While this has not translated to wins in the present, we have acquired young talent to bring wins in the near future. To compliment the talent that we have acquired, we are going to be altering the ballpark to capitalize on their strengths and back the fences up while also raising the height. A lot of our young hitters are great at hitting singles, doubles, and triples; power is not their strength, but speed is. By creating larger gaps and wider alleys, we hope to give these guys more of an opportunity to succeed while limiting some of the power bats we face in the AL. Furthermore, our pitching is weak. It is no secret that we have the weakest rotation in the AL West. Bishop is a promising prospect who should be making his debut next year, but the jury is still out if he can be a number one. Hopefully, this new park will keep balls in and translate to more wins. To compensate for fewer souvenirs, the Rangers are planning to hand out free baseballs on random occasions to make up for the fewer souvenirs. I realize that this goes against tradition, which may upset some fans. However, I think losing is far worse alternative."
