I'm starting this over. I think it's a fun aspect to the league and it's been kind of been ignored these past couple seasons. We're 11 seasons (wow!) into this league and plenty of guys are deserving of being inducted. Here are some of the guidelines/ rules I'll be working off:
1. The only players eligible for the BBSBL HoF are ones that played at least 75% of their career within BBSBL.
- Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis, as decided by a committee.
- The committee will be Erbes, break, Shale
- Obviously, this rule only applies for these first couple of classes.
2. Maximum amount of players on the ballot at one time will be 10.
- This is to make guys vote. 20 guys is too many and turns people off from voting. Just too much go through stat-wise.
- Guys who we deem qualified, but don't make the cut of 10 go into some sort of 'holding tank'. They don't lose eligibility years when they're in here. Once a guy is voted in or a guy falls off the ballot, a guy from the holding tank moves onto the ballot.
3. Need an extreme cut off.
- Need 75% of votes to get in.
- If a guy who receives 40% of the vote, which isn't enough to make the Hall, gets cut from the ballot for the next year, permitting there is someone to replace him. If not, then he stays on.
- Maximum amount of times on a ballot is three.
- This should also get guys to vote more. If they want to see their guys make it, then they have to vote to at least keep guys on the ballot.
4. Players are eligible for the Hall as soon as they retire.
- No more 5 season wait period. That's 5 months in this league. Too much time.
- Making guys eligibile right away increases the likelihood they get in a la more voting.
5. Players already in the Hall, can stay in the Hall.
