A good hitter that doesn’t strike out. No power at all, not even gap power. He doesn’t walk and is a poor defensive catcher. He is a good defensive second baseman as well as being a pretty solid baserunner.

A very good defensive catcher with a cannon for an arm. Decent singles hitter with very little pop. He defends the plate well but won’t take a lot of walks. Pay for his defense and enjoy whatever offense you get as a bonus.

The Yankees just traded for him but I don’t know if they will be willing to put the money into resigning him. He was much better in 2003-2004 so this year might just be a fluke. He is a decent catcher defensively. He could definitely start on some teams but all in all he is just a slightly better than average catcher.

Corner Infielders
Ramirez would have headed this list but after being traded to Boston it looks like he will be signed for 20 mil. Smh break but I guess if Giambi is worth 12 than Ramirez goes for 20. There is an extremely weak class of corner infielders this year.

You know the crop is bad if this guy is leading the class. He has some pop in has bat but really shouldn’t even own a glove.

He seems to be declining fast. He was a monster in 2000 but even in 2003-04 he was hitting 25+ hrs. He is still a very good defensive first baseman. He still looks like he could be a decent starting first baseman for quite a few teams.

His average really holds him back. He hasn’t hit over .240 in the last 5 years. On the other hand as a starter he should hit around 40 doubles and 20 hrs and that can be useful to a lot of teams. He will take his share of walks though he does strike out a lot. His range is limited at first but he will generally hold onto the balls he gets to.

Another player who was a very good hitter in the past that is now on the downside of his career. He still has pop in his bat and as a starter could end up with 20 hrs and 90 rbis. At this point though, I doubt that anybody will pay too much for him.

The prize of the fa market? Not often you see a Brill hits guy as an fa. Drowe offered 8.5 and got laughed at so be prepared to open your wallet if you want him. Broph does have that one last offer so maybe he will try to sign him. In any case, I could see someone like break pay 20 mil X2 just to get him. If he would do that for Ramirez he could do it again. I would happily overpay for him but I can’t afford 20 mil. Meh.

Still playing at a very high level in spite of his years. Has shown more power this year than in the last 2 years. His avg is up as well. His walks have dropped drastically the last two years. Still will be a very good player for the next couple of years

He doesn’t walk a lot and has no power so he has to get his avg back up into the .300 range to be a good player. He is very speedy and a good defensive second baseman with good range.

Decent hitter who will get his fair share of doubles. Decent on defense but not speedy enough to be a big help on the bases. No power to speak of.
