So the Franchise Player salary rule is being thrown all out of whack because of the $20M salaries we have. So how about this for a revamp...
Two options:
1. $15M x 10 yrs. It's kind of dumb to have this option, but I feel like it's a basic contract these days irl.
2. The average of the top 5 players at the same position (RF, CF, LF will all count as OF; 2B and SS will all count as MI; 1B and 3B will all count as CI), maximum of one $20M contract in the average. Years will be determined by the players loyalty: minimum loyalty will be 6 years, average loyalty will be 7 years, loyal loyalty will be 8 years. More than likely this will be the more expensive option so you don't have to commit for as many years.
At the end of any of these options, you and the player are free to part ways with no penalty. So minimum the player is with you would be 12 years. That's pretty franchisey to me.

Yeah it's not a vote. It's a choice you'll have when your franchise player is due for an extension.

ehh....
not a fan of the 15 X 10. There is no really negative to having a franchise player if we're using that.

Age is really the only negative about the 15 x 10.

ehh.... not a fan of the 15 X 10. There is no really negative to having a franchise player if we're using that. 10 seasons is a longggg time. If he signs when he's 25, he'll be done with the contract at 35. The team won't be competitive for 10 years (most likely) so that contract could become a burden. Plus, if you look at the average option... 2B and SS don't get paid. So that average will be quite low. Same with 1B and 3B really. Only players getting paid right now are SP and OF.

Honestly, the 2nd option is much better than $15 x 10 for anyone who isn't a SP or a OF. Wow. Ugh. Need to revise looks like.

Ithe issue with separating it position ally is you have to decide what position the guy is best at, because you'll see guys play out of position to save themselves money if it's done that way
