This isn't so much a rule as it is a suggestion/guideline.
I've noticed a lot of the new guys, who haven't done OOTP baseball sims making a lot of the same mistakes regarding prospects. Here are some reminders on how to deal with them:
1. Once you start a players financial clock, there is no way to stop it. You get 3 years of 300k and then 3 years of arbitration. There's no such thing as super two status, etc. in OOTP. It sucks that it's a glitch, but whatever.
2. Just because he's a 5* prospect doesn't mean he's ready to play in the bigs. A lot of guys need 3-4 years in the minors before they're ready.
3. What's ready you may ask? As a general guideline this is what I use: - For pitchers I like the AR around 5/6 and all major categories (HR,BB) to be the same. - For hitters I like average to be a 6 and HR/BBs to be 5/6. - Development will stop in the minors at some point, so you have to keep an eye out and know when to call them up.
