Official BBSBL Hall Of Fame (Revised)

As you all know, many, if not all OOTP leagues have a Hall of Fame. It's about time we have one of our own. Thus, BreakTheWalls and I will now present the official:

BBSBL HALL OF FAME

Being that this league began in 1996, we will be starting with the 1995 ballot. Hopefully, we can breeze through the rest of the 90s before being up to date with the current season.

This also means that any real life MLB Hall of Fame player that got inducted between 1939-1994 is already automatically in the BBSBL Hall of Fame. I will get to the list of those nominees at a later time.

Also, Break and I have decided that both Pete Rose and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson are both eligible for election.

Just like the real Hall of Fame, the same rules will be applied for ballots.

- GM's can only vote for a maximum for ten (10) candidates per season.

- Players will only be eligible for 15 years, beginning six (6) years after their retirement.

- 75% of all votes will be necessary for election. No exceptions will be made.

- At least 15 GM's must participate for election to occur. This could go up to 20 in the future.

- As far as team caps go for new Hall of Famers, the hats will most likely be of the same team that represents the given player in real life. In certain cases, debates may occur and if they do, there will be a majority vote.

Voting can begin immediately through the polls.

If enough people though are against starting the voting with the 1995 ballots, a discussion could possibly happen.

So Ashes and Broph, both of you are saying that we shouldn't do any Hall of Fame ballots until the players that retired after 1996 are eligible? And how could we all find out exactly who retired after previous seasons?

See I'm not sure about how to view retired players because I'm only relatively new to OOTP

But for instance players like Rickey Henderson and Harold Baines are players that were way up there in age that may have retired from the league finally

I just dont get what the point of revoting the hall of fame is when none of these guys did anything in this league, meaning there hall of fame status was already set based off their careers

It gives other guys that didn't make it then a chance to make it. For example, Luis Tiant is not a Hall of Famer in real life, and Break probably wants to see Tiant inducted into the BBSBL Hall of Fame.

Maybe I want Dwight Gooden, Darryl Strawberry and Keith Hernandez in the BBSBL Hall of Fame. Others could relate to their own favorite superstars that were legit, but didn't make it.

Meh let's get some more opinions on this matter before any major changes occur.

At least 10 total opinions would be nice. 4 GM's of course have already stated theirs, so I'd to see at least 6 more people give their two cents before any possible changes occur.

Yeah I like what we have going on. We are already shaping up different players to be superstars. I don't think we need the MLB history hall of famers, we should keep it to players in this league

if you were to alter something, Pete Rose should be on that ballot, outside that its pretty meh, just no interest in adding to the already established hall of fame. It will be really interesting when it does come down to players that spent portions of their career here with the prio numbers but then changed with the addition of different courses for their seasons toward the end of their careers.

if you were gonna change something, fuck the MLB and put Pete Rose in, outside that, no real reason to change the past hall of fame results...once guys worthy of a discussion start showing up that retired from here (worthy with their past stats of course included), then we should start.

Yeah this is, quite frankly, pretty dumb. None of these players played in OUR league. There's no reason to re-vote on people who are already in the HoF. Needless to say I am against this.

We should only be voting on people who played in this league. And it's a fantasy league, so I'm not sure we have to wait for the 5 seasons like in real life.

If you guys would have came to me with how you wanted to do it we could have avoided this.

Agreed on the above posts. If it's the "Official BBSBL Hall of Fame" then it should just include players who were in the BBSBL.

Otherwise, is it really the BBSBL Hall of Fame?
