hit .312, then .274, then .299, .278, then albeit in half the games, .305, he was a significantly better hitter for average over the four seasons that we are entering now, early in his career he sucked, but coming off a .274 season, he hit .312, then returned to .274, before hitting .299 So 4 slightly above average seasons out of 15? My rating system for average: <.220 = poor .221-.250 = fair .251-.284 = average .285-.315 = good >.316 = brilliant Now granted there are some crossing of the lines, but he doesn't come close to a 'good' average guy. The 6/7 number rating is right there for him though.

whats the upper limit for ratings? Talent goes poor-fair-average-good-brilliant. Numbers vary, although 10 is generally the highest you'll go. The main exception is homers, where guys can get up to 14-15 if they have insane power. Guys like McGwire.

In my experience, OOTP8 is much too complicated to use effectively with an online league. OOTP5 has some glitches, but it is a lot easier to use and understand, especially if we have a number of guys who have never played before.

Yeah I downloaded and fiddled with 8. It's way more intense. Not sure there are many 8 leagues out there. It's usually 5 or 6.5.

I feel like arod should have one more brilliant... numbers are cool no doubt but he did bat 358 in 96 and he is one of the best players of all time.... i just think he looks too normal to be arod. Maybe brilliant doubles or hits? i think thats fair

'96 was clearly the only season he hit that well though. outside of that season he's been consistently in "good" range. doubles have also been around 30. definitely good but nowhere near brilliant.

He is one of the best players of all time!
