It's probably just been a while since I set up a new league, but I'm having trouble extracting the file. For reference - I use 7zip. I created a folder called bbsbl.lg in my OOTP5 folder next to all my other leagues. Tried extracting directly to the bbsbl folder, and got a data error. Anyone know what's up?

I know previously I've needed to extract a bigger core file rather than just the regular updates. Also I used to need to move the folders around on my computer to shorten the file path, but that hasn't been a problem recently. So not sure if the problem might be file location or what.

The file is BBSBL10.lg so that might be the cause. Not just BBSBL

I'd also recommend winrar it's free forever you just have to close the buy it now box

Ive always done the exact same thing. I delete the previous league folder. Ill dl the new league folder. I drag it to the ootp5 folder. It extracts and creates a new folder. Done.

upgrade to windows 10. Window 10 has a built in program that will download and extract the files. It is called windows explorer and it works great.
My only concern is why did it take 20 minutes to download the file? I have hi speed internet..

Doesn't seem to matter. "Data error: BBSBL10.lg/league_news_box/p286.html (Only with backslashes). The league creates in the game but I can't see any teams or players.
I used to use WinRar, at some point I had a problem with it so I downloaded 7zip and 7zip works with all my other leagues. It's just setting them up that is usually the problem.

Even beyond the fact that I can't get the full file (which could presumably eventually be resolved), there seem to be a lot of out-of-game extras to figure out and some general issues with how the league is run. I was just looking for a more active league since once of my leagues just died and another is basically on life support.
Anyway, I'll be around, and I might wander back here at some point.

You could enlist the help of someone to do you exports for you until you figure it out... I'd do that if I was already invested in the league or really didn't have anything going on. As it is I'm still in a couple of leagues but was looking for something to replace my GABL time. And I'm honestly not really sure what there is to figure out - the extractions work fine enough in all my other leagues, but when I go into the file for this league I just see empty divisions listed with no players or teams. And actually, the bigger issue might be that I actually enjoy the randomness that PD adds to the game, and it seems both here and HOFFBL you guys make major efforts to eliminate it. So meh. |
