Rusney is a toolsy utility player with no natural position, but a great eye at the plate and good speed on the base paths. Rusney will not be a star like his most recent Cuban defectors. He's a little old for where he is developmentally and some think he could be stuck in a developmental rut. He's never the first to practice and he's usually one of the first to leave. If somebody could light a fire under him he could a potential dynamite lead off hitter who can get on base and steal bags.
