While Alex is listed as a LF he's more of a utility type player and has the ability to play almost every single position. Not only is he a slick fielder, but he's also got one of the most disciplined approaches at the plate. This leads to high OBPs, high AVGs, and low strikeout totals. There are concerns, however, how motivated Alex is in playing in the US. He's already 28 and would be leaving his family behind in Cuba to make the jump. Experts in sports psychology claim that Alex can be very emotional and leaving his family behind could be a huge detriment to his game.
