I wanted to highlight our epic trade frenzy. I’ll give an overall grade on how each team did with their trades and how they used their rewards. Trades that did not count towards the frenzy will not be reflected here. I’ll showcase what player packed their bags, and where they went. Won’t really include picks as it’s too much work unless 1st Rounders are involved. Here are the Central Divisions. Soooooo let’s go:
Central
Chicago White Sox
Grade: F…No trades. Probably should’ve been replaced. An absolute horrendous job by Crazy Mike.
Cleveland Indians
Who’s New: 1B Allen Craig
Who’s Gone: 3b Jaime Basaldua, 2010 1st
Reward:
Grade: D...Rowe (see what I did there?) once again shows his ability to not be very active. Blew a nice opportunity to really improve his ball club. It’s just not a surprise at this point.
Detroit Tigers

Best Trade: Dave didn’t do anything really big, but I liked him getting SP Andrew Cashner. I think he’ll be a nice pitcher for Dave in the future if he holds onto him. Broph did fine, though. He got Ackley, and I didn’t really see a rape for Dave in this frenzy.
Worst Trade: Trading up a spot because he wanted Machado…he gave up Jesus Montero. I get that he has Mauer, but still.
Reward:
Grade: B+...Dave did a nice job. Wasn't sure if he'd get 8 trades, but he sure did. Made Mauer back into a stud Catcher. Did some minor things, but a solid job from David.
Milwaukee Brewers
Who’s New: 3B Mike Moustakas and C Ramon Hernandez
Who’s Gone: SS Xander Bogaerts and SS Jose Iglesias (A)
Best Trade: The Moustakas and Bogaerts swap was fun, but I think Steve made a good call here. Give me the more polished and better player any day of the week.
Worst Trade: Only 2 trades and I liked both moves Steve made so yeah.
Reward: TIA:
Grade: B-…Should be probably lower, but I liked both moves Steve made. He should’ve traded more, though. If he did, his grade would've been higher. Still...he really could have improved his team immensely, and taken a bigger step. Made Moustakas into a nice, well rounded player. Trade me K Square, Steve.
Minnesota Twins

Best Trade: Dealing Harvey for Harper/Smoak/Rowen…stellar package. HF is just not a very good GM as you can see. George took clear advantage in this one. The Rickie Weeks deal is close, though. Shale just blowing up.
Worst Trade: Chris George trade I suppose, but he just sucked for Styro. Still, could’ve been better.
Reward:
Grade: A+…Great frenzy for George. I fucking love Chris Sale. He's basically ready for the show right now. Crazy. Smoak and Singleton are going to be fun. I wonder if he'll spin one for another spot on the field. Anyways, stellar job from George.
Cincinnati Reds

Best Trade: Acquiring Chris George for not so much. That’s a nice, smart move by Stutter. Don’t see a lot of those from him.
Worst Trade: Acquiring Doc Halladay…I don’t mind the value too much, but it’s just the point. Why acquire an SP that makes that much and is that old…plus expiring this year. Just doesn’t make sense to me. He’s already put a block out for Doc, too.
Reward:
Grade: B…He made some solid moves, and the value for his trades weren’t bad. However, if you’re committing to a $95M+ Payroll…you need to make the Playoffs. Not going to happen by the way. I believe he doesn't have his next two 1st so he kind of has to be sort of competitive.
Chicago Cubs

Best Trade: Stockpiling picks…he gets this done every year. Didn’t think he totally raped in a deal, but a lot of his deals he got good value where he was getting picks for Major League players or prospects he didn’t want.
Worst Trade: I wasn’t a total fan of the 3 assets going for Klos…but Play has soooooo many that it probably didn’t matter to him.
Reward:
Grade: A…Play didn't do anything major, but he got his 8 trades, AND continued to stockpile picks. No one does it like him. Miley was turned into a stud. Play thinks he could be his next Johan in the making. Carpenter looks like an awesome future 2-hole hitter.
Pittsburgh Pirates
Who’s New: 1B Ryan Howard, 2B Orlando Hudson, SS Cedric Benson, CF Andruw Jones, CF Marlon Byrd, SP Mark Buerhle, and SP Heath Bell

Best Trade: Acquiring SP Mark Buerhle for A JAX and Ledezma…great deal for me. Thank god Spencer had a fetish for Austin Jackson. He is a nice player, and I planned on keeping him…but I couldn’t pass this deal up.
Worst Trade: Maybe my trade with Ashes? I look back on it, and the only guy I have kept from the deal is Howard…who by the way blows right now. I gave up the most valuable piece in Collmenter. Jennings got improved by Ashes as well. Ortiz is one of the best hitters around. I still liked this deal because I used A JAX for Buerhle and Affeldt in a deal with BOS to get younger and better. This trade cut significant salary for me, and I never got interest for David Ortiz anyway.
Reward:
Grade: A…loved my Off-Season. I got younger, better, and cut Payroll. I’ll never argue with that. Sano is an absolute stud now. Future DH! I improved some of my smaller pieces like a Bourn and Benson. I didn't really maximize my one TIA so that sucked. We’re on pace for our most wins ever.
St. Louis Cardinals

Who’s Gone: C Jason Grabowski
Worst Trade: This trade…
Reward:
Grade: F…Bosoxi is by far the toughest guy to deal with here. Overvalues his players like no other. He should’ve made the Playoffs at least once during these past 10 years. He’s hell bent on sitting on his team unless he’s getting a rape offer thrown his way. Which could happen since Dan provided him one not too long ago. Bad GM.
Possibly might do the West divisions. I'll see if I have the time.
