This has been vetoed again. Not a single vote came back as a no. Sorry.

You can rework if you want, but I'd rather John put up a block for the pick and see the response he gets.

I'm sure Dan will have plenty to say, but before he starts I'm going to tell him to shut the fuck up. These deals are terrible. I don't know if it's collusion or if it's just you getting lucky, but these are bad.

It has nothing to do with you being in the same division as me either. Don't even start with that talk.

Sorry John it's just a bad deal value-wise and doesn't jive with what a rebuilding team would do. CC will only be 16. You'll have plenty of time to move other assets for more picks without having to move a future Hall of Famer.
If you're hell bent on trading the pick, then put a block up and get offers. Not going to let you deal it within 8 hours of joining without getting more than one offer.

Not gonna lie after you sending me a pm saying you would out the first deal through If I wanted to, all I had to say was yes. Then me and torontos gm to rework to a point we were both still content with and now to veto it again is pretty rediculous. Not sure why you going back on your word, you said multiple times in this thread that the deal would go through.

Like I said I had other pm offers on Everett right way and such and they were crap. But ya not sure again why you would be going back on your word, just gives me a bad vibe about the league, sorry to say.

Sounds like the committee felt otherwise.

I really hate vetoing deals, but there was such disgust over this trade still that I had to put it to a vote. I apologize.

I can guarantee that CC will come into the game as the #1 prospect. I can't let that be traded for mediocre assets.

I, for one, did not know we were voting on this updated trade.
I saw the post that stated the new trade is fine, and accepted.
I had no problem with the revamped deal, and there was no rule in place as there is now at the time.
I think it is ashame that this process occurred:
a) new gm made such a blockbuster deal w/o giving it time or posting a legit block.
b) the deal was reworked
c) the commish stated it was fine in the trade link
d) voting still occurred
e) the trade was vetoed
f) the manny deal received such less shit
Regardless of personal opinions, now we have two pissed off GM's.
May be too little too late, but this GM says the trade is fine revamped, just like the commish originally said as well.
Peer pressure sucks.

so whose in the committee? i keep getting pm's to vote, am i in the committee? I asked a lot of people this time around. At least 10 and they all said veto. The usual committee is Spencer, Nanz, Jah, Steve, and myself.

what was the criteria for the trade committee?
it seems one gm, not the commish, just decided on who the committee was.
I would like to have some information as to their selection, minus the commish of course.
I also assume there was no information on the collusion mentioned earlier?
If the trade committee is heavily weighted towards one league, or one division, that is poor.
It seems like we have had about 5 knee jerk reactions made in the last 24 hours and I for one would like to feel these deciscions have been made in the best interest of the league.

Bottom line... I had 4 or 5 people say they would either quit or lose complete interest in the league if this deal went through. I'm not going to let that happen.
That's it. I'm done. No more discussion. I'm tired of this.

Seems like some of the responses are that they voted no on the deal specifically because players were going to Toronto?starting to get the feeling that if I was offered the exact same deal from let say Phili, that there may have been very little fuss. No sure I'm liking what I'm hearing, seeing some immaturity at first, but this shows a large portion of the league may be immature and that worries me.

Next time, don't make a decision too fast. Just let the committee do their job

I agree with Philly here...I noticed I didn't get a request for a vote. Why? Because I bet Erbes and everyone else assumed that I was going favor Danchevy just because I know him. The fact of the matter though is that I wouldn't back him up just to back him up. I would have given an honest and truthful vote to the process. I'm not butt hurt or anything that I wasn't chosen, but again, in a serious situation like this, I still believe every single GM should have a say...even Detroit and the Angels, as inactive as they may be.

the end result is correct, the way we got there was probably suspect but the committee should have been summoned from the beginning. Same with the manny trade.
