i mean we dont need to pretend players are in their primes at age 21. we can be a little more imaginative than making every big prospect a mix of goods and (mostly) averages

like maybe look at their minors numbers and project them? or us top 100 prospects lists to get an idea of who to make good

I don't understand why we don't get creative with these drafts, realism is cool but give these guys some projection ffs.

as an aside, blackmon's career batting avg out of coors is .253 and he's a nothing player irl but yeah, we need to do away from looking at unproven players' worst seasons of performance. we are making potential studs like hosmer, kipnis, lawrie, d'arnaud, hicks absolute garbage bc of what theyve done in their first two years. Definitely need to project a lot of these guys: Tim Beckham, Brett Lawrie, Jason Kipnis, Aaron Hicks, Lonnie Chisenhall, Connor Gillaspie will all be solid. Just because you guys don't recognize their names doesn't mean they aren't studs in their own right.

Why don't people comprehend this process? Spencer lays down the groundwork and then I go in and adjust where I see fit.

Spencer lays down the groundwork and then I go in and adjust where I see fit. because youre not doing what you say youre doing. giancarlo stanton hit 290 at 22, had a BB% of 15 at 23, is one of the best hitters in baseball by age 24, and came in with avg hits and walks pretty much ditto for freeman. puts up an .897 at 23 and he's not even a prospect here. tda was so bad you had to remake him you made heyward a bench player when he had multiple 800+ ops season by the time he was 22 josh donaldson's first full season: .883 ops, 76 walks, 37 doubles and you make him AGFGAA i could go on. moustakas was a huge spect. rizzo got avg hits despite a .285 ba at 22 and hitting .341, .332 his last two years in the minors.

arent a lot of these hitters playing in the majors now? only posey would be a ML here without camps

Ugh don't like it then you guys can do it. Spencer stop doing the draft. Aaron and Styro I'll send you the password to the server and file so you can get in there and do it. Just confirm here you're doing it.
