Who would you have voted for?
My ballot would have included Biggio, Bagwell and Piazza.
I would have been on the fence with Curt Schilling and Jack Morris. Ultimately, I believe Schilling is a 3rd or 4th ballot player and Morris will get inducted later on through the Veterans Committee.
As for Bonds, Clemens, Sosa and the other legitimately accused PED users, I would have held off on Bonds and Clemens for at least 5 years and Sosa for possibly longer. Bonds and Clemens both would have been Hall of Fame players before they started juicing, but I would have waited until later to vote them all in.
Thus, if any of Biggio, Bagwell and/or Piazza are not inducted today, that would be a disgrace because there is no legitimate proof at all that any of them did any PED's. The rumors, suspicions, allegations and speculation can only go so far. Just because the 1990s were full of steroids doesn't mean that every single player did them. Those 3 did not and they deserve to be inducted this year.

biggio and bagwell are nice and all. If there was a Hall of really good, i'd vote them in. I wouldn't put them in the HOF.
I mean he barely got 3,060 and that's because he played 20 seasons (biggio). He's most known for having the most HBP's, WOW what an accomplishment, nah gtfo he's not deserving.

I also read somewhere he had like a 50 double 50 SB season which hasn't happened in 100 years or something like that. I dunno, I think he should get in, there guys in the HOF that took around 20 years to get 3000.

He was clutch, a leader and racked up solid offensive numbers, he's better than many of the already enshrined. Piazza was the best hitting catcher of all time Trammell was the best SS in the AL for 15 years.

I'm probably in the minority, but I would have voted for Biggio, Piazza, Clemens, Bonds, Trammell and Morris.
I hate how PEDs are being black balled. Um remember before Jackie Robinson when African Americans couldn't play in baseball? How many guys had to play in the Negro Leagues and were left out of the HOF? Different era, same difference. You have to accept the PED users because absolutely everyone was using them in the 90's and early naughts. I think Buster Olney voted for everyone on my list and gave a much better explanation. Wish I could find that article....

Actually, a good number of former Negro League players were inducted in 2006 after a special Negro Leagues committee got together to make sure that the great Negro League players were not left out.

But Fred McGriff didn't hit 500 homers! Only like 493. Amateur.

meh, I feel like the HOF should be for amazing and memorable players. Most of these guys are neither other than the steroid guys and Piazza.
Biggio probably wouldn't even be discussed if he had let's say 2930 hits as a legit HOF candidate. I just don't think 100 or so hits should make or break a HOF career. He's just another good player to me. He didn't do much else of note.

He was never even a top 3 mvp candidate in any year. I guess let's just put everyone in HOF who was solid and consistent.

Hit for power, average, run producer, stole bases played great defense at 2B AND CF. Look at his PA's? The guy was great.

Biggio is one of the greatest second basemen of all time though. Only Jeff Kent, Ryne Sandberg and Rogers Hornsby were arguably better second basemen than Biggio in my opinion.

Lol who voted for Aaron Sele? ? HOF voting is such a joke at this point. Voting should be made up of a panel of ex-players, coaches, and GMs, not writers who hold grudges and get their panties twisted when they hear the word steroids.

I think the problem with ex-players is that they might have an even bigger grudge...

My 2014 prediction: Maddux, Glavine, Frank Thomas, and Biggio
Shame that Maddux Glavine and Thomas will probably push Piazza back another year, but seeing my man inducted with Randy Johnson and Pedro in 2015 would be cool nonetheless.
I feel Jack Morris will eventually get in through the Veterans Committee. Maybe another couple years for Tim Raines, who I also think will eventually get in, if not in the 15 years, then definitely through the Veterans Committee.

Only good thing about the ballot shutout is that I get to save some money this summer. I was gonna go to Cooperstown again in July, but there's no need to now. I will be there in 2014 though.
