I find it funny that people think we live in a fairy tale world where we only have to concern ourselves with what is going on locally. There is no question that if Syria used chemical weapons there has to be consequences. Yes it should be a UN mission but China and Russia will just go against the norm no matter what. This doesn't mean we send ground troops in but there needs to be something done. Libya last year was the right thing to do. Iraq the fist time was the right thing to do (we should have done more actually) What goes on around the world effects us and are economy greatly.
President Clinton who I think most would say we flourished under would said that his greatest regret as president was not doing something about Rwanda. Do we have to spend more of our resources than most in the world? Yes. Is it fair? No. But it comes with the territory. If we just said fuck everyone we are only worrying about ourselves the world would go into chaos. Just the way it is.

I see it as the Nobama administrations failed attempt at flexing muscle...

Your economy is in shambles yet you want to spend even more money on a fruitless war making even more people hate your country. Even if you think you need to do it, and Assad is bombing his own people, the Syrians do not want you there. Period

Ungrateful fucking Canadians. If it wasn't for the USA you guys would be in a much much much worse off economic state. You know you have nothing to worry about defense wise because we would make sure nothing happens to you.
And yes most of the people in the states that we have gone into wanted us there. Then they wanted us to leave once they got what they wanted out of us "Saudi Arabia ring a bell?"

No one wants to mess with us because they have no reason to, not because they're scared of the USA. Canada is in NATO, the States are not the only ally we have. I guess all those IED's killing and maiming soldiers all over the place are a testament to how much they want you in their country, huh? It's slowly sapping the life out of your economy and citizens, a major city in the US has basically become a 3rd world territory, and you still want to go stick your nose where it doesn't belong. Classic.
