Here's an in depth look at the top prospects in BBSBL. I will also discuss some possible upgrades and what they should turn out to be in the future.
1. - #30 Ryan Anderson, Starting Pitcher, 22 yrs, Baltimore Orioles
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1810.html
Anderson, Ryan
Talent Increase A (TIA):Walks, Walks
Talent Increase C (TIC): Clutch
RCs Left - Id TIB his holding runners. Not somethign I normally do, but he has A duration already. As for IRIs Id get his DOUBLES to 5. After that Id probably do WALKS vs both and HITS vs RHB.
Analysis - Very solid SP but why is this guy the #1 spect? I mean he looks good, but Id take almost every other P on this list before him. Weird. Prone too, meh.
Franchise Type? - NO. Just dont see it. #1 spect isnt a franchise guy? Dont get it.
2. - #50 Jake Peavy, Starting Pitcher, 20 yrs, New York (N) Mets
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p2109.html
Peavy, Jake -
Injury Reversal: Walks
RCs Left - He has his TIA left but he doesnt need it now. Hell need it after his next negative PD since his PD reversal has been used already. TIB needs to go to duration. Low velocity which means hell top out at B duration. AS for IRIs ID wait and get those BRILLIANTS to 10. Pretty nasty to have 3 BRILLIANTS.
Analysis - I hate guys that have already had their PD reversal used. Scary. This guy is a superb talent though. Should be a 10AR SP eventually. Mets are stacked with SP.
Franchise Type? - YES, but only because it'll lock his talents. Id consider it after I spent a little on him. This guy could have 3 10 ratings. Thats rare. Worth a franchise tag.
3. - #12 David Ross, Catcher, 24 yrs, Seattle Mariners
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1885.html
Ross, David
Talent Increase A (TIA): Hits
RCs Left - I wouldnt do a TIB. If I did itd be arm and range for his defense. Hed be an above average defensive catcher with those upgrades. For a TIC Id probably do clutch performance. Doesn't hurt to be clutch. RISP. Etc. As for IRIs Id do DOUBLES, get them to 5. Id probably wait a bit for his other spots. Eventually Id try and get those HITS and HOMERS to 10. I like to IRI GOOD talents to 8. So Id probably wait to do that in WALKS or STRIKEOUTS.
Analysis - To have this type of talent at C is amazing. B in HITS and HOMERS is amazing. He is a cant miss 800 OPS C with those Bs. Also love the G's in WALKS and STRIKEOUTS. Absolute future stud. Also still has his negative PD reversal available. Thats huge.
Franchise Type? - YES. Mostly because hes a C. But B in HOMERS and HITS is a potential franchise regardless of position.
4. - #5 Chase Utley, Second Base, 22 yrs, Pittsburgh Pirates
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p2060.html
Utley, Chase
Talent Increase A (TIA): Hits
Talent Increase C (TIC): Consistency
RCs Left - For a TIB Id do running speed. Range is overrated IMO. He can steal, but hell steal more with more speed. Ive seen low speed guys with high steal ratings not do much on the base paths. 30/30 guy with more speed. For IRIs Id wait and try and get those A WALK and STRIKEOUT ratings to 5. Also try and get those G DOUBLE and HOMER ratings to 8.
Analysis - Studly MI type. B in HITS is amazing always. At 2B to have that with a G in HOMERS. So good. Can run too. 800 OPS with 30 steals at 2B? Yes please. Also still has his PD reversal available.
Franchise Type? - YES, but its close. I don't like his STRIKEOUTS and his defense is just average. But I'm nitpicking. Could do much worse then to have Utley as your franchise guy.
5. - #98 Josh Fogg, Starting Pitcher, 24 yrs, Montreal Expos
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1983.html
Fogg, Josh -
PD Reversal: Hits, Strikeouts, HRs
Talent Increase A (TIA): Walks
RCs Left - Definately gotta do duration for TIB. Almost all SPs should get that duration increase. For a TIC Id do clutch just because hes already consistent. For IRIs Id do HITS for now and wait to get those BRILLIANT talents to 10.
Analysis - Love BRILL/BRILL pitchers. Amazing production. I hate that hes already used his PD reversal. Scary. If he loses his B/B talents hes mediocre. His velocity is low so B is best case for his duration IMO. Solid 3rd or 4th SP though. maybe more.
Franchise Type? -NO. Hes good but not a franchise guy. Middle of the rotation guy, no more.
6. - #42 Grady Sizemore, Centerfield, 19 yrs, San Diego Padres
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1821.html
Sizemore, Grady -
Talent Increase A (TIA): Hits
RCs Left - So many options with this guy. With the TIB Id do range. A range with good %s in CF is elite. Cant beat it. Sizemore is already consistent so Id TIC his clutch ability. As for IRIs Id wait a bit and see how he progresses. Obviously need to up those Gs at some point. Probably STRIKOUTS and HITS. He has so much room to grow though. Should be the #1 prospect in BBSBL.
Analysis - Like I said above, #1 prospect IMO. So good at everything. Absolute stud. Still has his injury reversal too. Just elite at everything.
Franchise Type? -YES. Best plyer in the league type of potential. Easy franchise guy.
7. - #95 Brandon Webb, Starting Pitcher, 22 yrs, San Diego Padres
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p2510.html
RCs Left - Webb has everything left. Sexy. I dont think Id TIA him. Id wait for if I ever need to increase something after his free PD reversal. Long term thinking FTW. TIB Id do duration. A duration FTW. Amazing. TIC Id do clutch. Hes already consistent so clutch it is. I love that he has GOOD talent &'s already. Thats hot. Id let him grow and then IRI him above his talent level. 8 for GOODs. 10 for BRILLIANTS.
Analysis - Love this guy besides that prone injury rating. I think he could be special. One of the best young SP around.
Franchise Type? - NO. Simply because of that prone rating. If hes durable I probably spend on him then franchise him.
8. - #42 Jeff Weaver, Starting Pitcher, 25 yrs, Anaheim Angels
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1947.html
RCs Left - He has everything left. Classic JMich. Why is he even here? Anyway. lets focus on Weaver. Gotta TIA those HOMERS. G/G/G/B/G is nasty. TIC needs to go to duration. D is meh and his velocity is too low to up duration in ST. IRIs probably need to go to HOMERS right away and WALKS eventually. Get those WALKS to 10. Thatd be rare.
Analysis - Top of the line starter that wont be able to get as many innings or CGs as youd like. Still a huge SP eventually. Unless he never gets his HOMERS upgraded. I could see this guy being sick, or just being average because his GM dfidnt do work on him.
Franchise Type? -NO. SPs like this arent rare. Youll see a trend here but it doesnt make sense to franhise a guy you can get 3 or 4 of if you pay attention.
9. - #2 Kip Wells, Starting Pitcher, 24 yrs, Pittsburgh Pirates
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1814.html
Wells, Kip -
Talent Increase A (TIA): Hits
PD Reversal - Walks
RCs Left - Gotta TIB that duration. Then Id run some STs and lower velocity and increase duration. A duration SPs are awesome. Id TIC that clutch rating. Clutch isnt super important for SP but you never wanna see suffers. For IRIs Id probably concentrate on his vRHB ratings. Always nice to stack up against RHB. SO many of them out there.
Analysis - Wells is a very good prospect. Potential #1 starter. Love that velocity. Makes it easier to get to A duration. Love the B in HOMERS. Don't like that he has already had a PD reversed. Hes one bad pd from never seeing the majors.
Franchise Type? - NO. Too many SPs out there to franchise this guy. He could be a stud, but it seems like every team has a guy like that./ Not franchise material.
10. - #77 Adam "Big Donkey" Dunn, Leftfield, 21 yrs, Cleveland Indians
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p2051.html
Dunn, Adam -
Talent Increase A (TIA): Hits
RCs Left - Because I hate low fielding %s I would TIB his range at 1B and move him there. Or Id try to teach him RF in the minors and hope for a nice %. He has no chance of ever playing LF for me. TIC Id do clutch. Consistency is good so clutch is a must. As for IRIs they have to go towards DOUBLES and STRIKEOUTS. Hate those STRIKOUTS. Yuck.
Analysis - Solid power OBP bat that will suffer because of strikeouts. Still should be a #4 type of hitter. Defense and speed are big minuses though. Not ideal, but very good.
Franchise Type? - NO. Don't think hes good enough to be a franchise guy. Maybe if he gets a PD to DOUBLES or STRIKEOUTS.
bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1810.html
Anderson, Ryan
Talent Increase A (TIA):Walks, Walks
Talent Increase C (TIC): Clutch
