This is the End was probably the best, and even that could have been better.

Watching Two Lane Blacktop. Pretty cool movie. Warren Oates is awsome. Really gonna watch some more of his stuff.

Been a bad movie summer overall. Way too many movies w budgets over 100M +10 I was discussing that with my friend a few days ago. Yeah studios are packing the summer w too many tentpole films and people are just burned out. If it isn't Thanksgiving-Christmas, no one wants to schedule anything outside of summer. Another argument as to why blockbusters are bombing: www.rogerebert.com/balder-and-dash/Why-most-modern-action-films-are-terrible(be warned: this guy is a blowhard & painful to listen to) blogs.indiewire.com/pressplay/video_essay_matthias_stork_calls_out_the_chaos_cinemaBasically the directors that are getting these gigs have cut their teeth w character dramas and have no experience actually directing an action movie (the main selling point of a blockbuster!). When it comes to directing action sequences, they default to autopilot (Michael Bay) mode and cut action as fast/incoherently as possible b/c they don't know any better.

Watched Star Trek Into Darkness last night. Not bad People gave it way too much shit. Actual Star Trek fans think it's the worst movie ever made in the Star Trek universe. They must have forgotten that 1, 3, 5, and 7 all exist.

Iron Man 3...is it worth the cost of watching it now, or should I just wait for HBO or Showtime?
