The League Has Spoken
Well it was a way better turnout than I expected. No way did I think I was going to touch 17 participants. Good shit. Here are the results!
1. Who is the best GM in BBSBL?

Not shocked by this result. Recency effect yada, yada, yada. No arguing that Ashes has built one hell of a team, but to me it was Play. Guy can turn competing off and on like a faucet. That screams skill to me more than getting a couple of good PDs (Cabrera, Gennett, Zimmerman - these guys all got PDs at some point right? lol) and sitting. No offense Ryan! Just think Play is better at dealing away talent and then getting back better players than he gave up.
2. Who is the worst GM in BBSBL?

Again this list seems about right. CM is never around and when he is he sends the weirdest PMs, and then doesn't respond to your replies lolol. Tough to do anything with that guy. I voted for Dale mostly because I know he's man enough if he sees his name on this list not to freak out like the other guys. Well-intentioned, great for the league, but just lacking GM skills.
3. Who is the biggest troll in BBSBL?

This one surprised me. Feel like Play hasn't gone off the handle in awhile. He must have found inner peace. Styro on the other hand, goes off on Shale or Break every 20 seconds it seems lol. Makes me lulzzzz. Not sure why Steve showed up on this list. He's a gentle soul. Maybe people meant the other Steve? Also, Break is a victim guys.
4. Who is the easiest to troll in BBSBL?

Pretty classic list of victims I would say. Lol'd when I say Ashes name. Then I thought about it and yeah he's pretty sensitive. Not a terrible thing. Didn't realize it until I thought about. Damn feels like I'm taking a lot of pot shots at Ashes... not meaning to! Break and Shale are obviously the leaders. Only thing that shocked me was that it was reversed.
5. Which GM is easiest to trade with?

This is why this is so fun! Look at all the opinions. I'd disagree with 3 of those names. I mean come on, did the person who put Greeme ever actually make a deal with him!? Doubt ittttt. I think I've made trades with almost everyone in the league up to this point and Play is the easiest for me

Man I wanted to vote for Bosoxi so bad. He is such a nickel and dimer it sucks all of the fun out of trading like a Debbie Downer in the bedroom. Just terrible. But he's not the worst in my books. Kobe is the king of the overvalue. Granted he never has much to trade so he has to value something, but it gets out of hand sometimes. Stool is the new guy with a bad rep it looks like. Kinda funny though that a bunch of these guys on here have won a bunch in the league (Play, Spencer, Steve2)... must be some scorned lovers out there.
7. Which GM would you trust to babysit your child?

When I saw Game votes starting to roll in I started to laugh. I was like are people for rizzle? And then I thought about it... dude has like 7 kids and they're all alive! It just makes sense. Screw Spencer and Jack, who he can't even teach to sim, Game practically has an army under him. I did like the creative 'no one' answer because I'm pretty sure if it came down to it nobody would trust anyone in this league with their kid.

And this is why I can vote Dale the worst in the league. He's got his priorities in order and he just seems like someone you want to be friends with. Throw in some whiskey and a roasted chicken and call it a night. A night with a friend. Impressed with the diversity in this vote though. Lots of friends here in BBSBL!

Completely forgot Stool was a cop when I made this question. Ugh. He's the obvious choice. But I chose Play because I feel like we would have this really fun black and white banter in the cruiser. Like Starsky and Hutch, but Hutch is black, ya know? Plus I wouldn't feel nervous rolling into Compton with Play next to me. Like a big teddy bear with a hand gun and Uggs and some tea. And lol @ Stutter being a cop. Still loling.

A lot of self-votes on this one. A lot. Like most. You guys also realize that Greeme is from Israel, right? So by law he can't be our President... Guess by default the choice is Aaron, who was my pick! He's a lawyer who knows his way in and out of some sticky situations. I'd imagine he'd either pick Mark or Nanz as his running mate and that would be great. And then they'd all be in DC and we could get late night sushi together, just like the old days...
11. If we reassigned teams today, which team would you hope to get?

So this question was unintentionally misleading. I meant it to be like as the rosters sit right now who would you want? I think some picked based on favorite teams, etc., which ya know what? Cool! Based on rosters right now it's no surprise the Marlins are [HASH]1, but it does surprise me that no one took the Cubs. Lots of talent on that team - more than I think some people realize. I chose the Rockies. I'd love to try and win in that park. Would be fun to have 'average' homer rated guys put up 20 homers in a season. Trade with me Shale!
12. Which team has the brightest future?

Seems about right. Almost took the Twins, but then I remember that's where pitchers go to suffer massive PDs so I couldn't pull the trigger. Ashes team will be good until he decides for it not to be so technically he has the brightest future, but I never bet against Play when he goes all in. It's like betting against me to get a boner during the SB halftime show. It's physics.
13. Which team will never make the playoffs again?

I could envision all of these teams never making the playoffs again. Honestly. I think the GMs of these teams are decent, but not good enough to dethrone the other teams in their division. You need to win games against top GMs and I don't see these guys doing it. For example, I don't see Shale beating Spencer any time soon. And Kobe, HF, and Temp aren't taking any wins from the Marlins for a long timeeee.

Lol @ how many people missed this question. Just didn't answer it. Anyways, I went Scooter. Not sure anyone but him and Trout belonged on this least tbqh. I went with stats over ratings (more on that later!) as Trout has yet to produce a 20+ homer season, which is probably a by-product of playing in Oakland, but in my mind great players transcend their parks. Long term, if Trout doesn't get out of Oakland we could be talking about one of the biggest under performers in terms of stats to ratings. Or maybe he's a late bloomer like Han-Ram? You just never know with OOTP...
15. Besides Buehrle/Santana, who is the best pitcher in the league?

People just love to ignore instructions (see: Johan Santana vote). Since I'm writing the article my vote is the deciding vote and that means Paps is the 3rd best in the league! In terms of value, Zimm definitely beats out Paps at this point, but if it's Game 7 and I get to choose between Paps and Zimm then I'm definitely taking Jon. Not close at this point either.
16. Who's farm system is the tastiest?

This is turning into a huge dick sucking fest for the Marlins, huh? Lulzzzz Ashes has put together the [HASH]1 system for what seems like the 4th season running. I went Cubs though. More balance. Ashes has a bunch of high end SPs and with the SP trade market seemingly bottoming out over these past couple weeks with Stoolfan raping for everyone, I'd rather have the hitters Play does at this point. Not sure why the Pads got any votes. That system is extremely mediocre. Blue Jays probably should have been higher with Lindor and Bundy leading the way.
17. Should we allow TIAs to brilliants for an increased cost?

Yeah this is pretty obvious. Ratings are still a little high (apparently), but Ashes is doing a nice job of bringing them down. Maybe this is something we revisit in the future when people start complaining that ratings are too deflated?

This was pretty interesting. Even with the new tanking rules in place people want more. I think you guys are crazy. A lot of people treating this sim like BBS when they can't. Let's ride these rules out for 3-4 seasons and see what happens. We'll switch it up when I want to tank again though so be ready

Yeah BBSBL isn't going away anytime soon. I've actually got quite a bit of time on my hands these days so if Ashes or Steve ever need to take a break I'd be able to step back in. This is my ding dang baby I wouldn't let it die this soon. Hmmmm maybe I should have voted Ashes best babysitter...

Not such a great outlook for the future lol. I voted 4 mostly because I don't think I would let this die without a fight. It might not BBSBL3 in 5 years, but I think there would be a BBSBL iteration around. This shit is too fun.

I would love a restart. There were a ton of mistakes in this version of BBSBL that I would want to correct: make sure the history stays from year to year, start with fewer GMs, better draft files early, etc. Lots of things to improve upon. I know it's not the popular option, but eventually it's going to happen. It's inevitable.

Are people crazy?? Of course we should contract. The league has gotten so much better since we trimmed the fat the last time. We could easily do away with Chicago and Philadelphia, and then move Milwaukee back into the NL Central. Easy peasy. And I would say we just eliminate the players on those teams. No FAs, no draft, no bullshit. Just do away with two teams. Would be heaven.
23. Do you believe more in ratings or stats when trading?

I'm calling bullshit on about half of the people who said stats. I've dealt with most of you and all you do is rant and rave about ratings. Also surprised how many said ratings. Guess it's a really mixture here. Ratings when they are prospects and first few years in the league and then stats after that. Sound about right?
24. Is board cash or game cash more valuable?

I mean are people not paying attention? It's simple economics. The ratio of board to game has fallen something like 50% over the past two seasons. It's practically down to a 2:1 ratio. Sure, you can do more things with board cash, but game cash is where it's at right now. Especially with so many teams who aren't ready to compete (ie low fan interest) trying to compete. It's a seller's market for sure.
25. Are prospects or vets more valuable?

This is about right. But here's my logic why vets are more valuable: it's not like you trade 2-3 vets to get one prospect, right? You trade 2-3 prospects to get one spect. Therefore in that very simple logic vets are more valuable. But I guess it comes down to where your team is at. I think people want to get as many prospects they can and run out a team of all 24 and under players to try and win. Well guess what? Not possible in OOTP. It hates young players in their first couple of seasons unless they are undeniable studs. You need vets... and guess what? You're going to have to trade multiple prospects for each one!

It's a good time to be in BBSBL imo. Outside of the first couple of months of the league I'm not sure it's been more fun. We need to get a little more parity in the league I think, but other than that everything seems to iron itself out these days and most people are happy!
