10. Ricky Gutierrez - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p491.html
Let’s face it, he has no chance to win bc of the team that he is on but that is better than seeing another player from the A's or the Rays. Still a .382 avg is nothing to sneeze at. Besides leading the league in avg. he is 2nd in obp, 3rd in slg and 2nd in ops. Also has shown some pop with 12 hrs. Of course when you are on a 21-60 team you have to be Babe Ruth to win the MVP.

9. J.D. Drew - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p2314.html
It is possible that this list has too many Devil Rays on it but tbh a case could have been made for Rollins also. Drew is currently leading the league in hrs and rbis as well as being top 10 in total bases, slg and ops. Drew’s power stroke seemed to get lose in Detroit for 4 years but this year he bounced back and he is showing the power that he did when he played in Chicago in his early years. Drew loves the weather in tampa and is hitting .336 there to go with 12 hrs.

8. Matt Holliday - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p301.html
Big Daddy has put together a great year so far. He is one of only a handful of players with 50 runs and 50 rbis. He is top 10 in a bunch of categories. He has been much better on the road hitting .373 with 6 hrs as opposed to .324 with 3 hrs at home. The Rays would love to see some more power out of him but you can’t have everything. He has been more patient at the plate and stands a good chance of setting a personal best in the walk department.

7. Rondell White - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1334.html
White doesn’t have the flashiest ratings but he plays like he does. He has hit .325 or better in 6 of the last 7 years. This year is no exception with White sporting a .340 avg. He is also 3rd in hrs and rbis with 15/63. Who would have thought that out of the seattle big 4 of A-Rod, Votto, Ross and White, White would be the one standing out?

6. Jack Cust - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p2233.html
I love Cust. If he could get his team into the playoffs he would probably move up a few spots. Cust is leading the league in obp and top 10 in avg, hits, walks, rbis, slg and ops. Cust hits equally well at home and on the road. He is slightly better against rhps than lhps.
Chance to be voted MVP – 7%
5. Mike Lincoln - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p715.html
For once Kobe didn’t lie, Lincoln has been as good as promised. 19 starts, 17 quality starts and 13 wins. He is leading the league in whip and 3rd in era. His duration is a definite weakness though and he averages just under 7 innings a game. In any case, there can be no doubt that he has been a major difference maker for the Devil Rays. Obviously not the only new player brought in but having a good start once every 4/5 days makes a big difference.

4. Robinson Cano - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p228.html
Great ratings and he is hitting up to them. Leads the league in slg, ops, hits, doubles, ebh and tbs. He is also 2nd in avg, 4th in obp. He is starting to show power; he has already hit 10 and his season high is only 11. He isn’t in the top 10 in runs/rbis which will hurt his mvp chances
Chance to be voted MVP – 10%.
3. Mark Buehrle - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p1031.html
Not a fan of pitcher mvps but if there will be one he should be an innings eater like Buehrle. He averages about 8.5 innings per game. He has won 16 games of 21 started and thrown 12 complete games, 6 of which were shutouts. Oh yeah, he also leagues the league in era. Really does absolutely everything you want out of a pitcher but he still only influences a game once every 4 days.
Chance to be voted MVP – 12%
2. Carlos Lee - bbs56.net/BBSBL3/BBSBL3/Site/p2350.html
Best hitter on the best hitting team. I don’t mind the ks. I don’t even mind him not walking because I would rather him swing the bat. He is hitting .325 and is 2nd in hrs and rbis with 19 and 67. He is also a very good defensive leftfielder. Still, he isn't on my team so how can i have him first?
Chance to be voted MVP – 23%
1. Todd Helton
Is the Toddfather just a homer pick? Best player on the best team so I don’t think so but we will see what everybody else says. He is top 5 in almost every hitting category and top 10 in most of the others. He hits for avg and power as well as score runs and drive them in. Good combo. If he keeps this up then
he should be this year’s AL MVP.
