Like earlier today I was wondering how Juan hit 50 homers with the A's in 01 and won't get 50 here this year. Yes, the homers ratings themselves are lower, but it seemed like the home stadium would make up for it in a way. Some of this shit just isn't easy to understand tbh Except My park is a 110 in homers, and he had a 13 rating Oh well then there you go. Thought you had one of biggest pitcher's parks but guess not

Mehhh I guess that's the thing. My hitters go to pitcher's parks that feature awesome pitching and their road numbers suffer pretty much by default. I don't think they should suffer that much at neutral stadiums though like Shea Stadium for one. I guess that all makes sense, but some of the numbers just look much worse than they should. your hitters dont go to Coors, but they dont play against NL West teams, they play against all teams, so all teams play a fair road schedule and news flash, in the playoffs, you will be going on the road against those elite pitchers...4 times a series Yeah and I'm hoping my pitching stacks up just as well because they've pitched real well on the road. It should be interesting to see for sure

your park needs to be ignored...really the only major park advantage I could think of, that helps both the home team and hurts the away team regularly, would be if it significantly favors one side of the plate. So if you have a park that massively favors righties...but is horrid for lefties, you can make sure you get a bunch of right handed pitchers, and load your lineup with right handed batters, regardless of handedness of the pitcher. That way more lefty batters come out for opposing teams, and you keep righties out regardless

You do have a point though...most of the SP's out there are indeed good or brilliant in homers allowed. That certainly has to contribute to why the 40+ homers seasons are so rare now

My homers for righties are better, so I guess it's good I have righty hitters with power ha

thats why I love guys like Juan, Carlos Lee, Delrio, and why its best if my contact batters take walks, in the end, both teams face my specific park, so as long as I keep my overall offense pretty stellar, it wont make a huge difference....as can be seen by what, 6 batters with a .841 OPS or better

as for having the ultimate hitters park, thats great and all, but really means nothing, its a pretty balanced stadium, it really only affects opposing pitching, and better offenses than yours have a hayday in that park

Slugfests are fun though. I love seeing those box scores regardless of the end result.

ok, he did the opposite, forgot. Yeah he figured because his pitching is better than his offense, he might as well take advantage of it
