1. Los Angeles Dodgers
Name: Clayton Kershaw SP
Age: 17
Ratings: B/B/B/G/B
Kershaw is a franchise type pitcher and it is kind of cool he goes to the Dodgers since that is who he pitches for in real life. The Dodgers already have Henson franchised though so they could find themselves having to trade them to protect Kershaw. We have seen a lot of top prospects have bad pds so it will be a tough decision for the Dodgers to make. I obviously think whoever gets him should franchise him it's too risky not to in my opinion. Complete stud could be the best pitcher in the league one day.
2. Atlanta Braves
Name: Evan Longoria 3B
Age: 20
Ratings: G/B/F/G/A/A
This was tough between Longoria and Davis. I like Davis is a little more but Longoria is the better all around prospect. Longoria doesn't really have any holes in his game. Should be a great hitter with lots of doubles and 20-30 homers a year as well. He also shows the potential to be a good base stealer one day too which is always a plus. He should be a really nice defensive third baseman as well. Might need a tib to his defensive fielding %.
3. Cincinnati Reds
Name: Chris Davis 1B
Age: 19
Ratings: A/G/P/B/A/F
The Reds get a much needed power bat here. I actually like Davis about the same if not a little more than Longoria. He just needs a tia to his hits and I like him more as a power hitting spect. He does have his weaknesses though. He will strikeout a ton which sucks but he will be super effective when he puts the bat on the ball. He will be a really good defensive first baseman as well which is a plus. Some might take him over Longoria but I think he falls here.
4. San Francisco Giants
Name: Kris Medlen SP
Age: 20
Ratings: G/G/G/B/A
This is a tough one I'm not sure where spence wants to go with this pick. Medlen is the 2nd best SP on the board so I will go with him. Though they could take a chance on young project Salvador Perez, I think that Medlen is the safer option here. His SP duration leaves a little to be desired but he shows the potential to be a good starting pitcher in a few years if everything goes right and he has no set backs. Strikeouts being average is no big deal he should be a good 3-4 easily and could become a nice 2 with some help.
5. Houston Astros
Name: David Robertson CL
Age: 20
Ratings: B/B/B/A/B
The Astros need pitching help and sooner rather than later so I think they go with a guy like Robertson here. Robertson is a stud he is the second most talented pitcher behind Kershaw but being a reliever limits how high he can go. If he is handled right and doesn't have any bad pds this guy could be really valuable down the road for Houston as one of if not the best closers in the league. You could TIA his walks if you have the money to spend and make him amazing but it won't be needed for a few seasons at the least.
6. Boston Red Sox
Name: Max Scherzer SP
Age: 21
Ratings: G/G/A/G/B
Boston could go a few different ways here as they need a lot of help and I like Scherzer. Scherzer isn't ace material but he has the makings of a nice starter. Scherzer needs a TIA to his homeruns and he is basically Medlen with better duration. Similar to Medlen he should become a good 3-4 type starter with the chance of being a 2 if he gets some help. I went with him over guys like Latos because he is less of a risk and should be ready to help much sooner.
7. Philadelphia Phillies
Name: Salvador Perez C
Age: 15
Ratings: G/G/F/A/P/B
This was a hard one I wasn't sure where to put this guy. But I think he will be a nice project for new GM CC. Apparently being that young could be a bit of a bad thing, but talent wise this is where he should go off the board in my opinion. TIA to his homeruns and he is a great prospect. Plays B/B defense at catcher which is awesome for the hitter he could also become. But the big risk is that he is 15 and could go through a lot of pds. So it will be interesting to see where he goes, but since no other pitchers jump out at me I think he belongs here.
8.Minnesota Twins
Name: Tim Lincecum SP
Age: 21
Ratings: G/G/G/A/B
Another close decision here as there are some younger guys that the Twins could take since they will be in rebuild mode for a couple more seasons. But I like big time timmy jim here. He needs a tia to his walks obviously and maybe a tib to duration. But no reason why he shouldn't be a starter one day as long as he has no bad pds of course. Alot of guys with similar talent that could go around here but Ill give timmy the slight edge since he has a huge advantage in the strikeout department which is helpful.
9. Minnesota Twins(from Tampa)
Name: Jordan Walden CL
Age: 17
Ratings: B/B/B/A/B
Just noticed Walden and he looks just like Robertson. Unfortunately being 17 doesn't give him a leg up since teens are more prone to pds. If he can survive though he will be a stud. And the Twins can afford to take the chance especially since no one else jumps out here. I guess he ties with Robertson for most impressive looking pitcher. Again could tia his walks and make him awesome but that will come down the road. This guy will probably go through a lot of pds. It will take a lot for him to be ruined though with those talents.
10. Arizona Diamondbacks
Name: Mat Latos SP
Age: 17
Ratings: G/G/G/G/G
The Diamondbacks could go a lot of different ways here but I think it is time Latos come off the board. The other pitchers left need TIA's so he has the advantage there. On the young side so the bad pd could scare some off and he won't be ready for a while either. The Diamondbacks have time
and as long as he doesn't have a bad pd he is the best pick here. With a good pd he could be a stud, but as is he should be a nice 3-4 type starter if he develops correctly.
11. Chicago Cubs(from Detroit)
Name: Doug Fister SP
Age: 21
Ratings: A/G/G/B/F
Cubs have a lot of options as the draft has a lot of similar looking guys but I think Fister is a good fit for the Cubs since play will have the board cash to tia his hits. And that is all he needs really to be a good prospect. The strikeouts really aren't a big deal and with the B duration he would be one of the better looking spects after camps. G/G/G/B like the other starting pitching prospects besides Kershaw in this draft so not bad value here if the team picking can afford to TIA his hits.
12. Texas Rangers(From NYY)
Name: Joe Smith CL
Age: 21
Ratings: B/B/B/A/A
Another closer who has the potential to be dominant. This draft isn't that great but it definitely has a ton of great closer prospects if anything. The Rangers could take a SP here or a chance on one of the hitters but this guy is probably the most talented player left on the board so I have him here. Brilliant in hits, doubles and homeruns is pretty hot. Average in walks and strikeouts is kinda meh but he is already almost fully developed there so thats nice. He could be a stud in the pen one day.
13. Houston Astros(From Cleveland)
Name: Andrew Bailey CL
Age: 21
Ratings: B/G/G/G/B
Another closer for the win. Bailey is similar to Romo from last year who went around this same spot so actually not to bad of value with this pick considering the difference in talent level of this season's draft and last season's. Bailey is nice he should be a really good reliever one day for whoever gets him. And since Astros need all the help they can get I see them taking the best player available here which is probably Bailey in this case.
Name: Clayton Kershaw SP
Age: 17
Ratings: B/B/B/G/B
