Kaep is the obviously better QB. Smith has value and a starting job because Harbaugh and Roman rebuilt his image. we'll see. Smith was drafted first overall, and then had 5 different systems, starting at age 20. He's got a tremendous work ethic.

Biggest thing is arm strength. I like Alex Smith. Hes a cool cat. Hard worker. System QB that was very good when he was surrounded by elite talent. But he is maybe the 15th-18th best QB in the league because bottom line is his arm strength is mediocre at best. Out pattens? Nah. Short dump ofs. Throws over the middle. Even seem passes are ok. But the out is shaky. Long ball non existent.
