If Stutter and I were to ever meet up in person, we would instantly become white versions of Method Man and Redman.
1. Describe your experience so far in this league. Are you happy to be a part of it? What changes could make this league even better? Is BBSBL going in a good direction right now?
Well I didn't come in expecting too much so my experience is pretty good. Although the forums could be a made for TV movie...the personalities are endless...young, old, and in between.
The forum here is quite entertaining and I even think a sitcom could be made out of it. And yeah the age range here is quite vast from the low 20s into possibly the 50s or beyond. Not sure if anyone here is above 50 though.
2. What is your opinion on Erbes' job as a commissioner at this point? Is he trustworthy? Please be honest.
Considering he has to deal with such an eclectic bunch of people he is doing just fine. I had my conspiracy, but then you realize common sense rules all and it was your own fuckin mistake. So yeah he is trustworthy, but he will mess up a file once in a blue moon...shit happens.
That's honestly a very good way to look at the big picture. Everyone's human and mistakes will happen, but Erbes really has done a great job with dealing with all the many different personalities and egos that exist here.
3. Being in the NL Central is rough. You got the Cubs taking over the division for the foreseeable future. The Astros look ready to start rebuilding. The Pirates are already rebuilding, and the Cardinals are somewhat between trying to compete and rebuild at the same time. That leaves the Reds are a distant second place team. What are the Reds' short term and long term plans? How could you get the Reds to eventually overtake the mighty Cubbies?
Yeah the Central is gonna be tough, a lot of good GM's to deal with. Short term goals are easy win often, lose rarely. Long tern goals are win often, lose rarely. Its just a matter of patience. Again patience and a good farm system are the only way I see competing with the Cubbies, Stros, Cards, and Bucs.
So basically, you just plan on doing the best you can each year, regardless of who you have? That has its pros and cons, but it's always good to have a legit plan for the future in order to maintain some sort of direction.
4. Miguel Cabrera. We know you love him and you still have nightmares of the Marlins trading him, but what do you think it would take for you to acquire him one day from the Marlins? Do you think Ashes would ever accept such an offer?
I am fine without Cabrera, don't wanna be a "homer". but yeah Cabrera does belong in Miami! Loria is a Jew!
I think we could all say that if Miggy had remained with the Marlins through last year, he would have been sent to the Blue Jays last winter as well.
5. Which players in the next 5 drafts (2001-2005) would be at the top of your wanted list? Please give a brief explanation for each choice and it does not have to be in a particular order necessarily.
01 Mark Prior- Could you imagine a healthy Prior/Wood, I might have been a Cubs fan.
02 Prince Fielder- not Josh sorry
03 Nick Markakis- when healthy he is dangerous
04 Justin Verlander- this kid knows how to pitch, never seen a guy throw harder like he does late in innings
05 Ryan Zimmerman- I remember when he could flat out hit...
All great choices. Not sure if you will end up getting all 5 of them, but best of luck! I'm really surprised you didn't say your boy Josh Johnson, but then again, he will probably be very injury prone.
Justin Verlander will very likely be the best pitcher in the game when he comes in. Definitely better than CC.
6. You recently franchised Lance Berkman. Do you think he will become one of the best hitters around? What will you try to do improve both him and your lineup overall?
Big Puma is gonna be a monster! I gotta get Berkman protection and help. Names don't mean shit if they cant hit.
Being that you just dealt Sosa, I hope you can get similar protection down the road in order to help Berkman reach his full potential.
7. You also have one of the best closers in the game in Keith Foulke. Is he a Red for life or do you see him being on the trade block down the road?
That's for me to know(figure out) and you to find out on a later date.
Could such an 04 reunion in Bean Town happen sometime soon?
8. You were born in North Carolina, yet you now live in Philadelphia and happen to be a Marlins fan as well. How did being a Marlins fan originate and why did you choose them of all teams to be your team? Do your real life friends give you a lot of shit for liking such a team?
NC doesn't have a MLB team, so I grew up watching the Cubes, Braves, Skanks, Phils, and O's. I was 10 when I found out the Marlins were going to be this new team in MLB and I like their colors back then so what the hell. I get more shit from my friends than I do at Phils games. I don't mind being the only fan in 30k people wearing my colors.
I like how you will defend your pride no matter what, but you can't let your wife dress you in ugly Phillies clothing in the future. And shame on you for mentioning all the northeast teams except the Mets. Won't mention the Sox as well because they are way up north.
Like most intelligent people, Stutter knew better than to fall in love with a team that plays in the City of Brotherly Losing.
9. Do the real Marlins even have a future or are they doomed for fire sales every other year? Which other team could you see yourself rooting for if the Marlins don't improve at all in the next few years?
This is what happens when you let art dealers own baseball teams. Might as well stick it out with them. Look at Cubes fans and Boston fans...Front runners are faggots.
Jeffrey Loria is arguably the worst owner in baseball. He also could give Knicks/NY Rangers owner James Dolan a run for his money as the worst owner among the four major American sports.
10. Do you really have a legitimate stuttering problem? When did this become your official nickname?
Yes I have a legit stutter, had it since I was 6. Freshman year of high school. Coaches, teachers, friends parents, my own mother only knew me by stutter. Awkward.
Haha damn. Even your mom only called you that. That's fuckin crazy. I never had a legit nickname growing up.
11. You have quite a few tattoos. Describe them. Why do they all mean a lot to you?
Left forearm - Chinese symbol for victory
Right Forearm - Chinese symbol for Wealth
Right Calf- Duke Blue Devil logo
Left arm - I am starting my sleeve with a Skull/baseball popping out of my shoulder
Back- "Stutter" between shoulder blades in graffiti; Also a tat of the Chinese symbol for power
Nothing all crazy YET
If you cant put two and two together with what they mean, you might be a moron.
Haha I'm pretty sure we all can figure out those meanings. Too embarrassed to have a Marlins tat though?
12. Please compare the personalities in this league to that of MLBDH and Shot Online. Which groups of people have been better to interact with?
Well the interaction is pretty similar with the exception of the bitching and moaning. At least when someone is bitching its the whole community in Shot Online...MLBDH has all pretty much stayed together in a sense and friendly, but I pick on Break simply because he is such an easy target. All I wanna do is toughen the lil fella up. Anyone talked to Whiteboi? lol
Haha fuck him (Whiteboi that is)! What a piece of shit he was. The communities between BBSBL, MLBDH and Shot Online are all different, but one thing in common is that the longtime players were all very passionate about what they did and it's too bad one of those is already gone and another is soon going to follow suit.
RIP to a once great game that has now turned into shit.
13. Finally, in your opinion what is the best strain of weed and why?
Indica by far, a lot of the pot we get in the US is sativa. Indica is better for you and cleaner. The potency of sativa will fuck you up all crazy. But you get a hold of a strain of Indica and the high is on a whole new level.
Basically, sativa GOOD indica GREAT.
That's some interesting info that I wasn't really aware of. If I can get my hands on some indica in the near future, that would be awesome.
Indica looks sexy. I can certainly dig it.
Thanks for taking the time to do this and best of luck the rest of the season!
