1. First things first, I want you to rank the GMing ability of all of the Longballer guys that are in BBSBL. Rank them then give me some reasoning for your rankings. Thanks
I cant really answer this question, i haven't been in longballer long enough to give a definite answer. from what ive seen, Darell knows his shit, Break thinks his shit dont stink, shale suffers from homer disease and seems to think he can win without pitching(coors field has that effect on people). Drowe i haven't paided attention to enough, but im sure he has learned a little something from break and their talks at the bar, so i see him making noise in the near future, i would go as far as to say he will get a ring before Shale
My take - Meh at ducking this question. Its so easy. Break is one by far. Best regular season record in BBSBL history. Enough said. 2 is Shale. Rockies have been mediocre but Coors is tough. Hes active and he cares. Effort is important. 3rd is DRowe. He made some moves last year, and he has talent. He isnt active enough to succeed here, but with some effort he could. 4 is Stutter. He had a vey solid young squad and fucked it up. Needs to show something other then that hes a redneck. 5 is Darrell. Hes done nothing so its possible hes worse then Stutter.
2. Do you regret any of your trades? If so which ones? If you could take 1 trade back which would it be?
only trade i semi regret is the CC trade but you learn as you go thanks to all the kind words from the community. and i don't take any trade back, otherwise i wouldnt have agreed(blame the weed)
My take - You mustve made worse trades, or trades as bad. I think Jeffers set you up pretty well and now your team is crap. You have 2 solid players and a bunch of shit. C trade was terrible though.
3. Beckett and Berkman look pretty sick. Beyond that you don't have a ton of talent. Whats your plan moving forward? Have you considered moving Beckett and Berkman to get some more young talent?
i got a couple guys in the minors that im hoping will get some timely PD's. As f as moving forward improving my farm system is ideal and honestly all ill be doing for a number of seasons, i got some guys like i said with good PD'S i might be aight. i would move Beckett before Berkman in a heart beat but don't look to see Beckett in any color besides white and red for a while
My take - IMO you need about 100 million in board cash. You system is shieet. No but for real, I dont like most of the guys on your team. You dont have your first again so you really should be trying harder to win.
4. Financially things dont look great for you. You aren't in danger of losing money but for a mid level team your salary is kinda high. Luckily 24 mill in expiring contracts that you probably wont resign means you'll be better moving forward. Whats your plan financially moving forward? Are you gonna resign those 3 big expirings or let them walk and try your hand in FA?
this season i should get closer to the green if not in the green, everyone i sign is gonna walk and i wont make many/any moves in FA as the roster i do have, and the guys i will protect are all on the younger side of life.
My take - Still in awe of the fact that you dont have your pick. Who did you trade your pick for? Fucking Break raping these GMs. Sucks for everyone else. Not sure how youre gonna compete in the next decade.
5. Your division is tough. The Cubs are elite. The Astros are still very good. Eventually PITT and STL will be competitive. What are the chances that you'll be able to compete for a division crown soon?
Not really looking to Compete anytime soon, i wont be in full tank mode ill win a few games but ill stay around 3rd in the division for a while
My take - I think the other teams will pass you soon. Really need to make some moves and get better on the cheap. DO some articles. Earn some board cash. Get a move on!
6. Winter Meetings are complete. What are your thoughts on the rule changes? Merchandising Revenue Rule? Competitiveness Rule? Reliever to SP Rule? Any ideas for the Dodgers GM?
the mechandising revenue killed me last season, so im in tone with the new rule I dont find tanking fun, and i dont have the patience to watch a team lose on purpose for so long
plenty of relievers have turned into Starters so it makes sense
as far as a new Gm for the Dodgers, im sure Shale said something to the guys over at Longballer, and i know a few could use a little more action than LongBaller
My take - Great new rule additions obviously. Very disappointed in how much effort others are putting into finding a new GM. Ive asked at least a handful of people myself.
7. This offseason was rough for Erbes. Some big time problems with the file. Have you every see these type of problems in other leagues you've been in? Do these problems make you worry for the long term outlook of the league?
you see these problems all the time. computers arent perfect and neither are humans. I dont worry about these issues cuz ive only invested time and not money
My take - I hate your answers. Not the substance. But more the fact that you put absolutely no effort in and Im gonna make like 1 million from this article. THANKS A LOT!
8. How was your offseason? What was your biggest offseason move? What was the one move you were trying to make that didn't happen?
well the offseason was easy, smoked up a bunch waiting for the file to be fixed. i wanted to sign a scrub catcher but couldnt do to the file debacle, good thing for catchers in the minors
My take - Big swing and a miss. Thats what happens when you have 40 mill tied up in scrubs. Hopefully next year you can make a splash. Id probably move some guys for cash and really try and get better financially.
9. Overall who had the best offseason? Which team made the most noise and should be much better because of it?
i would say Seattle for for what i understand its Nanz and we shouldnt expect much...
Padres made moves, i see them making noise but not the playoffs
ashes name popped up in a few trades, im lookin for him to destroy the east
My take - Both teams made big moves, but dont like either tbh. Padres and Mariners should be great over the next decade though.
10. Predict your record and your finish in the division. Tell me who has the best team and why they'll win the WS!
what you will see outta me is a sub 500 season and a third place finish, dont expect much....i like what Ashes has done in florida, and the Cubes are due so its a toss up. Dont pay any attention to the AL for obvious reasons but erbes has a slight shot, Break will compete but fail. I do not see a repeat of Oakland
So yeah it will either be Florida or the Cubbies
My take - Im thinking 65-75 wins. 75 is unlikely. Maybe if you finish below third youll start to worry and make some moves.
As for the Cubbies Play can suck it. Ill bounce his virgin asshole out in the playoffs!
